The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed the appointment of Geoff Lawson as the bowling coach of GP-BCB National Cricket Academy. Former Aussie Test cricketer Lawson, who is also a former Pakistan Cricket coach, will be in charge of the bowlers for three weeks. “Lawson’s appointment is final. He will take care of the bowlers for three weeks,” said head coach of the Academy Ross Turner in a press conference on Wednesday. Alan Campbell has started working as the specialist coach of the Academy and ‘A’ team from Wednesday. He will also work on the players’ fitness and skills for one month. Chairman of the BCB media committee Jalal Yunus also talked about Lawson’s inclusion in the coaching unit on Monday. The Academy team will tour South Africa in August this year. Campbell and Lawson’s inclusion will greatly assist the preparation for the tour, said Turner. Lawson’s date of arrival has not yet been confirmed.
