Penalty corner specialist, Sohail Abbas vowed to play maximum international hockey and said that he would not hang the his shoes after the London Olympics 2012. On Wednesday, while talking to media persons here at Wagener Hockey Stadium, he dispelled the impression that he would get retirement after the Olympics 2010 and added that he wanted to play more for the country. “I am at peak and want to represent Pakistan in mega events and play vital role in the victories,” he maintained. Answering the question regarding the Olympics 2012, he said that London Olympics were the main target of green shirts and all the boys were keen for the contest. “I will try my best show my best performance in the quadrennial event,” he added. Sohail, who has scored 327 international goals for Pakistan, further said that the ongoing Europe trip would be beneficial for the up-coming talented lads to learn from it. “We will face top ranking teams of the world during this hectic tour. All the boys produced fantastic results in the matches so far and will display their best in forth coming fixtures, “he hoped.
Pakistan’s match postponed: The Organizing Committee of the Rabo 4-Nation International Tournament has postponed the match between Pakistan and hosts Netherlands owing to prediction of the thunder storm on Tuesday evening before around 30 minutes of the fixed time. Other matches of the day have also been called off due to bad weather as the postponed competitions would take place on June 30. Both the teams had arrived at Wagener Hockey Stadium to play the game but suddenly the announcement was made by the official that all the people left the venue in just 30 minutes, as a storm would be come after 20 minutes and people should reach the safe places.
