A video circulating on the social media showed an Indian policeman forcing a local Imam to announce that “Qurbani is a punishable offence”.

Qurbani on Eidul Azha is a recommended practice for Muslims. Muslims across the globe sacrifice sheep, cows and camels for God’s pleasure. In India, Qurbani becomes controversial every year because cows are revered by Hindus as sacred animals and mass sacrifice of cows is hurtful to the sentiments of the Hindu majority.
