Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Javed Alam Odho conceded during a press conference that the 10-year-old girl that had been fatally shot during a shootout between police and suspected robbers had been hit by a bullet from a policeman’s weapon.

The shootout had occurred on August 13.

The DIG also said, “If the policeman had not fired, the robber might have killed the constable.”

The 10-year-old, Amal, was seated inside the suspected robbers’ car when the bullet fatally wounded her.

Moreover, DIG Odho also said that he had requested the authorities concerned to replace the AK-47 assault weapon, presently given to police personnel, as it is highly dangerous.
