Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s decision to nominate Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan as Punjab chief minister (CM) has displeased the party’s old guard in the province as the nominee is a new entrant, according to a local media outlet.

A party leader questioned, “Where are the party claims that only a stalwart will be the Punjab CM?”

Another leader said, “I doubt that Chaudhry Sarwar will take oath as Punjab governor in the current situation.”

Another party leader said that Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would become very strong if he is able to get the Punjab law minister’s office for Raja Basharat.

The leader also alleged that Basharat had joined PTI with Elahi’s permission.
