Top bureaucrats were unable to resolve the ongoing tussle between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) prompting the authorities concerned to constitute a new committee to deliberate on the division of assets between the two bodies.
The new committee will be chaired by the Interior Ministry additional secretary and will also be comprised of the Interior Ministry joint secretary, Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) joint secretary, CDA chairman, MCI mayor, MCI chief officer and the Islamabad deputy commissioner (DC).
A notification following a meeting in this regard reads, “The CDA and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration will remain focused on the points of disagreement, enabling the committee to finalise its report and submit recommendations within 14 days.”
