A union councilor belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was killed during a clash with workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Gujranwala on Friday night.
As per the details, PML-N worker Ahmed Butt opened fire at PTI activists in Faisal Town, which resulted in the death of Afzal Mehar, PTI’s general councilor of UC-31.
According to police, at least seven people namely Munib, Faisal, Shoaib, Muhammad Ali, Afzal and Imran were injured in the firing as well. All casualties were shifted to a nearby hospital.
A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
