Sixth death anniversary of Mujrim Leghari observed

The 6th death anniversary of late journalist and revolutionary writer Mujrim Leghari was observed under the auspices of Mujrim Leghari Literary Sangat at a public park in Jhuddo on Monday. Sindhi Language Authority Secretary Taj Joyo presided over the ceremony in which poets, writers and journalists from across the division participated. Leghari was a senior journalist and had been written a book titled ‘Sachh Me Machh’ during the General Ayub Khan regime. The content of the book and its revolutionary message resulted in the author being arrested along with Usman Deeplai, the owner of the printing press in Hyderabad that published the book. They remained in jail for some months. He was also arrested during the campaign of journalists and the Movement for Restoration of Democracy, staying in jail for several more months. His leftist leanings had landed him in jails previously along with Rao Irshad, Minhaj Barna, Mehmood Sham and Habib Jalib. After his death, he was buried in his native village Qaisar Khan Leghari near Jhuddo town.
