KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday heard plea to shift Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case from an anti- terrorism court (ATC).
Faisal Siddiqui, the advocate for the victim, said that his clients were not satisfied with the proceedings of ATC as it approved the bail of former Malir senior superintendent police (SSP) Rao Anwar, who is the accused, while the case was on trial.
Earlier, father of Naqeebullah Mehsud had filed a plea in the SHC to transfer the case of the extrajudicial killing of his son from ATC to another court. He had cited dissatisfaction with the judicial proceedings as the reason for his demand.
Rao Anwar was released on bail in the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case on July 10.
Naqeebullah Mehsud was murdered on January 13 this year after being missing for 10 days. He was accused of having links to militant groups but the accusations proved false upon trial.
