ISLAMABAD: Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of the International Islamic University of Islamabad (IIUI) has decided to establish a Paigham-e-Pakistan (PeP) Centre for peace, reconciliation and reconstruction studies and will also offer a post-graduate diploma in peace and conflict studies.
It was decided at a meeting held at the Islamic Research Institute here. To further disseminate PeP and CVE content pragmatically, IRI is to establish a Paigham-e-Pakistan Centre for Peace and Reconciliation at IIUI to enhance and encourage research on CVE and to conduct training modules on it.
In this regard, a high-level consultative meeting was held on July 30, 2018, at IRI to discuss viability and feasibility of the project by consulting prominent religious scholars of all schools of thoughts, researchers and heads of leading think tanks etc.
The meeting was held in the Allama Iqbal Auditorium of the Islamic Research Institute (IRI) to devise a working mechanism of the PeP Centre and to deliberate upon CVE modules and CVE course that is being introduced in Pakistan for the very first time.
