Chief Election Commissioner has deferred the election in Azad Kashmir’s constituency LA-37 valley-II here, following violence and rampage at different polling stations over here.
Twelve polling stations were set up for the polling in constituency LA-37 Valley-II in Lahore. Polling was underway, when fierce fighting broke out between the People’s Party and Muslim League-N activists at Government Chishtia High School Krishn Nagar, Home Economics College Gulberg and Qila Lachhman Singh polling stations. The workers freely came to the blows that later turned ugly and they started throwing chairs at each other.
The situation went out of control when even the returning officer Rana Ishtiaque was not allowed to enter into the polling station at Government Chishtia High School Krishn Nagar.
Later, Rana Ishtiaque said that Election Commissioner has stopped LA-37 Valley-II election due to bad law and order situation.
