Lahore Lions put Sialkot Stallions attack to sword to claim an easy win by 45 runs while Hyderabad Hawks defeated Islamabad Leopards by three wickets in the Super Eight T20 Cup at the Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad on Saturday night. Nasir Jamshed and Shahzad with their 128 runs opening stand and Umer Akmal’s big hitting guided the Lions to a big total of 218-6 in twenty overs. Umaid Asif and Abdur Rehman were the prominent bowlers for the Stallions.
In reply, Stallions could only score173 runs on the board for the loss of all wickets.
Imran Nazir brought some thrill in the game by maintaining the run-rate with his towering five sixes and two fours to score 44. But as he was sent back to the pavilion by Saad Nasim, wickets started to fall at quick succession. Shahid Yousuf and the upcoming batsman Ayaz Tasawwar could not handle the pressure and threw away their wickets, while the Stallions’ captain Shoaib Malik also crumbled to pressure and was caught leg before, stalling any of their anticipation for a win.
Earlier, Sharjeel Khan cracked a 33-ball 61 to snatch a win for Hyderabad Hawks against Islamabad Leopards. Leopards scored 165 runs but Sharjeel with five sixes and an equal number of fours made things easy for Hawks to achieve the target.
