Imran dubs marrying Reham the ‘biggest mistake’

• PTI chief says he had not seen Bushra Maneka until after marriage

LONDON: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Sunday said that his marriage to journalist Reham Khan was his life’s biggest mistake.

Speaking to a British media outlet, the PTI chief dubbed his short-lived marriage with Reham the “biggest mistake of his life”.

Commenting on his third marriage with Bushra Maneka, he said that he had not seen Maneka’s face until after they got married.

“I proposed to Maneka without seeing her face as she had never met him without a full veil,” he claimed.

“The only idea I had of what she looked like came from an old photograph I had seen in her house,” Imran said, adding that “Bushra is a leading scholar and spiritual guide in the mystic Sufi branch of Islam and she will not meet men other than her husband with her face uncovered, nor venture unveiled outside her house, which she rarely leaves”.

He said that if he does win the election, his wife will not attend official functions.
