President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif are befooling the masses and conniving with each other to cover their corruption, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan alleged on Saturday. Talking to reporters at his residence before leaving for Multan to kick-start the party’s “Save Pakistan Drive”, Imran said the ruling political elite was a “political mafia” tricking the masses with its political gimmickry. He said the PPP and PML-N had failed to deliver, therefore, the general election should be held in the coming winter. Imran said Nawaz Sharif and other political forces were supported Zardari in the name of democracy whenever the Supreme Court took some action against the latter.
The PTI chief claimed that he did not see fair and free polls under President Zardari and he would appeal to the Supreme Court to ensure transparent voting in the next election. Imran said the PTI would emerge as the single largest force in the next election and no political force could challenge his party. He said with its complete focus on Pakistan, the PTI had decided not to contest AJK election this year, “but the party will show its muscle in the next election in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan”. The PTI chief said his party would organise a mammoth procession in Multan to showcase its political power.
