Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that the recent surge in terrorism is aimed at creating chaos in a bid to delay elections.
Addressing a public gathering in Swabi on Saturday, the PTI chief said the scourge of terrorism is becoming more pervasive, blaming ‘foreign forces’ for hatching conspiracies against Pakistan.
Their ultimate goal by creating chaos in the country is to postpone the July 25 election, he said. He added that some forces in the country were helping the terrorists in achieving their nefarious designs.
He also expressed grief over the sad demise of Siraj Raisani and said, “My heart bleeds at the massacre in Mastung, we’ve lost a true patriot in Siraj Raisani.”
“I also face grave threats to my life but that will not stop me from mixing with the masses,” he said, adding that despite all the bomb threats, the party has not cancelled any election rallies.
“Shehbaz Sharif is happy that Nawaz Sharif is in jail. He’s the one who told him to return in the first place you see,” he quipped.
“Nawaz thought millions could come to welcome him but he forgot that his only business is making money from corruption,” he said.
“Shehbaz you are next in line to go to Adiala after your brother and your fate will be sealed after the polls,” Imran said.
The PTI chief went on to say that politicians, who have wealth overseas should not be considered sincere to the country. He then drew Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Asif Zardari into the firing line by saying that “look at Zardari, he’s been implicated in a Rs35 billion money laundering scam”.
He said that Zardari and Nawaz have one thing in common that during their tenures in government they appointed inept people in positions of power.
