LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahid Hussain has asked caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hasan Askari Rizvi to take notice of the arrest of over 200 workers, candidates and senators in Rawalpindi in false cases, terming it vitiating for the political environment.

Through a letter, Senator Mushahid Hussain informed caretaker Punjab CM that “over 200 PML-N workers, candidates and senators have been arrested in Rawalpindi in false cases and this act is vitiating political environment. Caretaker CM should take notice of it”.

He further said in the letter that “our political rivals are being given free hand and due to arrest of PML-N workers and candidates the political environment is being affected adversely”.

The detention of workers, candidates and senators is a violation of the code of conduct, he said adding the Punjab government should make it binding on the institutions to uphold the electoral code of conduct.

He stated in the letter that PML-N supreme leader Mian Nawaz Sharif is coming to Pakistan on July 13 and it is their political right to accord a warm welcome to him.

‘WORKERS TO REMAIN PEACEFUL’:

The spokesperson of the PML-N Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that they will welcome Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz while staying calm adding that the ECP to consider their objections.

“NAB should arrest Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz after their arrival at Raiwind residence,” she said this while talking to a private TV channel on Wednesday.

She said that it is not the purpose of our objections that PML-N will boycott the forthcoming elections. Nawaz Sharif had been the PM of this country for three times and if he is presenting any objections regarding the elections than ECP should consider it.

“It is the responsibility of ECP and the interim government to hold transparent and unbiased elections,” she held.

She said that they will welcome Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz at Lahore airport. ‘’There is no ban to depart at Lahore Airport in section 144,” she added.

Marriyum further said that Shehbaz Sharif has clearly said that it is their legal and constitutional right to welcome the supreme leader peacefully.

“Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have faced all hearings while obeying law enforcement so NAB should arrest them after their arrival at their home Raiwind,” she asserted

ANTI-RIGGING CELL:

Marriyum further observed that the PML-N has established an Anti-Rigging Cell and soon its UAN number will be issued so people can immediately inform in case of such false action.

“We will bring forth the evidence in connection with rigging,” she maintained.
