The Implementation Commission would hold its last meeting today (Friday) to give final touches to its recommendations to be sent to the federal government on the devolution process, asking it to observe July 1 as Provincial Autonomy Day on successful completion of the transfer of powers from the federation to the provinces.
A source told Pakistan Today that the commission which met here on Thursday with Raza Rabbani in the chair decided that the Evacuee Trust Board would remain with the federal government while the ministry of minority affairs would be transferred to the provinces. The source added that the commission heard the provincial chief secretaries and decided to hold its last meeting today.
The source also informed that the devolution of seven remaining ministries had already been planned and the commission would finalise its strategy on the devolution plan in a meeting which will tentatively be held on the last week of the incumbent month.
