Angry protesters on Wednesday besieged the welcome camp of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Nawabshah ahead of his arrival for electioneering.
Before Bilawal could reach Daulatpur area of Nawabshah to campaign for 2018 polls, enraged locals grouped to spoil the plans in a bid to remind the unfulfilled promises of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership.
Men, women and children among the protesters raised their voices against the prolonged gas load shedding in their homes. “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should first provide us gas and then ask for votes,” one demonstrator said.
They also complained that the nominated candidates of PPP had failed to deliver in the past.
Media reports said that Bilawal, who is yet to arrive in Nawabshah to address the people, will meet the local leaders and settle the issues.
