JHELUM: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate for NA-66 Bilal Azhar Kiyani has been allowed to participate in the upcoming general elections scheduled for July 25.
The decision of election tribunal over Kiyani’s dual nationality issue was suspended on Monday.
However, the final notification will be issued as per Supreme Court (SC) verdict.
It is to be mentioned here that Bilal Azhar Kiyani was contesting election from NA-66 Jhelum when appellate election tribunal barred him, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry from contesting the elections.
The nomination papers of the candidates were rejected by a tribunal of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench headed by Justice Ibadur-Rehman Lodhi.
