LAHORE: 52 out of 141 National Assembly constituencies in Punjab lack one or two candidates from the three major political parties, a local media outlet reported on Sunday.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is not fielding a candidate in 39 of these constituencies while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are not represented by a candidate in 21 and eight constituencies respectively.
NA-66 (Jhelum), NA-90 (Sargodha), NA-92 (Sargodha), NA-98 (Bhakkar), NA-101 (Faisalabad), NA-114 (Jhang), NA-115 (Jhang), NA-116 (Jhang), NA-153 (Multan), NA-166 and 188 (Bahawalnagar), NA-174 (Bahwalpur), NA-177 and 178 (Rahim Yar Khan), NA-181, 182, 183, 185 (Muzzafargarh) and NA-199 (DG Khan) are among the 52 constituencies.
