How about a Law Day

Nowadays, there is a tendency to subscribe to a particular day to mark the importance of a subject, for example Mothers day, Earth Day or Labour Day. This is done for the public awareness and it is beneficial.

I would like to add one more day to this: the Law Day, to highlight the importance of abiding the law. If we look casually at abiding the law, it means restriction to our freedom. If I want to extend my boundary wall and encroach more land or I want to drive my car in wrong direction, or do not wish to pay taxes and make wrong calls, police will interfere and I will feel insult.

But if we give it a second thought, we will realise that the same laws also protect us. There is no need to mention the lawlessness in general. First we should educate the public that laws are meant to protect them and this is not a one way restriction.

The other thing is our electronic media. This is causing resentment in public against government and its departments. So we must educate general public about the benefit of good behaviour by public itself. We should not take law in our hands.
