KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi leader Khurrum Sher Zaman and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar on Friday came face to face with the wrath of their respective voters.
Zaman, who had gone on a visit to his home constituency PS-110, was welcomed by a crowd of frustrated voters who surrounded the politician and confronted him about his lax attitude.
“We did not vote [for you] so that you could sit in the assembly and travel in a car to and from your house,” one voter shouted.
Other voters demanded answers.
“When did you ever raise your voice [for the issues we face here]? You can do a lot, but when did you ever speak up?” they asked.
However, Zaman refused to take responsibility, stating that he alone can not do something.

Likewise, Sattar was also bombarded with complaints by destitute voters as he left Memon Masjid after offering Friday prayers during a visit to his home constituency, Kharadar.
“Ask God for forgiveness!” one man shouted at the politician. Another voter spoke about his harassment at the hands of the animal hide mafia on the auspicious occasion of Eid.
“You have been snatching animal hides for the past 25 years by brandishing weapons. Now you’ve come here to ask for votes,” the voter remarked.
Soon after Sattar himself joined in and listed the facilities that the people of Sindh deserved in exchange for the tax they paid.
At the end the MQM-P leader excused himself from the mosque’s premises, saying that his party would try to serve the people if they ensured votes for him this time.

Rana Afzal was reminded that he was visiting his constituency NA-110 after five long years and that the last time they had seen him was when he had shown them the way out of his residence for wanting to discuss the issue of contaminated water.

They told the former finance minister that he had not proved himself worthy and lost their faith in his ability to serve them since he had ignored the sewerage issue during his time in the office.
