KARACHI: As candidates around the country began their election campaigns, former provincial minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon took his campaigning a step ahead.

The PPP leader spent millions on cars in PS-63 Tharparkar as part of his election campaign.

Memon had 19 cars prepared in Hyderabad, each bearing pictures of himself and other PPP leaders such as Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Each car costs around Rs1.8 million.

The cars, all Toyota Corollas, were covered with the traditional black, green and red of the PPP.

He spent a total of Rs34.2 million on the cars, which would be given to supporters in each union council to drive around.
