Despite tall claims made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan regarding his government’s effort to uplift the education sector and quality in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the party’s education minister Muhammad Atif was intermediate pass himself, Pakistan Today has learnt.

Atif, in his nomination papers, listed his educational qualification as “intermediate”.

The PTI chief claimed several times that his government’s education policy in KP was better than any other province’s.

He tweeted this earlier:

Similarly, in February 2017, Khan claimed while addressing a conference in Peshawar that 34,000 students in KP had left private schools and enrolled in the province’s public schools.

In a video shared on Khan’s official Facebook page, he claimed that KP had set an example of quality education in the country.

Similarly, in another Tweet, the PTI chairman claimed he was “showing commitment to education in KP through action”.

All the while the KP education minister was only an intermediate pass, the PTI chief claimed in another interview given to a local media outlet that “education” among other things was “the best in KP”.
