KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) seems to be losing its grip in Sindh as its nominated and unopposed elected candidate on PS-6 and party’s Sindh Chapter president got disqualified by the election tribunal.

According to details, Mir Shabir Khan Bijarani, son of deceased former Sindh minister, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, on Wednesday announced to part ways with PPP and announced to contest elections as an independent candidate on PS-6.

While addressing a news conference in Sukkur along with former caretaker premier Muhammad Mian Soomro, Mir Shabir Bijarani announced to leave PPP and declared that he would contest elections as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, the election tribunal at Sukkur disqualified PPP Sindh Chapter President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro from contesting the upcoming general elections from Larkana’s constituency.

Nisar Khuhro’s competitor Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi, son of former PPP leader Haji Munawar Abbasi, had challenged Nisar’s nomination for not mentioning his second wife and children in the filled nomination form.

Meanwhile, Manzoor Wattoo has refused PPP’s ticket for the upcoming elections and has announced that his family would independently contest for the four seats of Okara.

MANZOOR WASSAN’S NOMINATION PAPERS REJECTED FROM PS-27:

Appellate Tribunal rejected nomination papers of PPP candidate for Provincial Assembly from PS-27, Manzoor Wassan after hearing a petition against him.

Earlier, the PPP candidate had submitted nomination papers from PS-27 Khairpur.

Wassan, on the other hand, said that it was incomprehensible to him why his nomination papers were rejected despite him declaring all his assets. He also announced that he would approach Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding the rejection of his papers.

The PPP leader had bagged 44,011 votes in the 2013 General Elections to beat Pakistan Muslim League Functional’s (PML-F) Mir Shah Nawaz Talpur.
