  • The character that I am playing in Na Band Na Baraati is close to my heart: Shayan Khan

Things always get exciting when a new actor or actress makes a splash in the Pakistani entertainment industry. New talent always brings fresh ideas which helps our industry grows and the audiences get to see diverse and young faces onscreen.

This Eid-ul-Fitr, a number of star-studded Pakistani movies were released such including Mahira Khan-Shehryar Munawar’s 7 Din Mohabbat In, Javed Sheikh directorial comeback Wajood starring Danish Taimoor, Moammar Rana’s Azaadi and Na Band Na Baraati. While all films made a mark at the box office, but what makes Na Band Na Baraati more special is the fact that the movie has launched four new young faces i.e. Shayan Khan, Nayab Khan, Anzhelika Tahir and Komal Farooqi. NBNB also stars Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ali Kazmi, Qavi Khan, Atiqa Odho and Azra Mohyuddin.

We contacted Shayan Khan, the actor who is making his movie debut with NBNB. Shayan is the only male debutant appearing the lead role of a film from the pack of flicks released on this eid.

Na Band Na Barati centres around a Pakistani family living in Toronto and Shayan Khan plays the younger brother, who always gets into trouble and his elder brother (Mikaal Zulfiqar) always comes to his rescue.

“My character of a trouble-maker is very close to my heart as in real life as well, I am quite spontaneous and mischievous in nature. And especially when I was a teenager, I used to get into trouble a lot, so this character is quite similar to my real life personality”, Shayan remarked.

The young actor and model also told us that he was born in Karachi and then travelled across the world due to the nature of his father’s job. He completed his early education in Karachi, before settling in the US with his family.

Produced by Zain Farooqi of Zashko Entertainment, Na Band Na Baraati is directed by Pakistani actor/director Mahmood Akhtar and written by famous Indian writer Harish Kumar Patel.

Na Band Na Baraati is being screened in cinemas across Pakistani and on some screens in UAE and UK this week.
