Lahore Commissioner Nadeem Hassan Asif has sought the completion of drain construction works in the city before the monsoon showers start. Addressing a meeting in Alhamra, he directed officials of WASA, TEPA and Solid Waste Management to remain active and prepared for any emergency in the monsoon season. Asif directed TEPA to complete all drain constructions before rains and fence all ditches and trenches on roads to relieve citizens’ traffic troubles. He asked all staffers of the departments concerned to remain present on duty during the monsoon season and warned of departmental action against those remaining absent or committing negligence. He said that efficient staff would be awarded with cash prize, certificates acknowledging their services and shields.
