LAHORE: The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) spokesman said that the association has written a letter to a member mill for not showing its actual stocks which was damaging the image of PSMA.
With regards to the recovery of 35,000 bags of sugar through a raid carried out at Husein Sugar Mills ltd, PSMA wrote a letter to Chief Executive of the mill. The letter criticised the said mill for tarnishing the image of association.
Pakistan Sugar Mills Association Chairman in a press conference held on November 8, 2010 stated that the sugar industry had exhausted its stocks based on data received from member mills including Husein Sugar Mills Limited which reported 1.5 tonnes as remaining balance as on October 31, 2010.
“The recovery of 35,000 bags by the administration has raised questions and grossly impaired the credibility of PSMA and you are asked to tell us the actual facts,” the letter read.
