- Top police, civil administration officials transferred in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan
ISLAMABAD: In a bid to ensure transparent elections on July 25, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday approved a massive administrative shakeup in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan on the recommendations of caretaker federal and provincial governments.
According to details, in Punjab, the services of 18 police officers and 28 senior government officers were returned to the federal government while transfers of 64 officers of Punjab police have been approved alongside transfers of 34 secretaries and managing directors in the province. 35 deputy commissioners have also been transferred besides the transfers of 77 SSPs, AIGs and SPs.
In Sindh, the transfers of 14 secretaries in the province have been okayed along with the transfers of two AIGs, 14 DIGs and various SSPs. Similarly, the transfers of six commissioners and 33 deputy commissioners have also been approved.
According to a notification, Additional IGP Crime Amir Ahmed Sheikh is transferred and posted as Additional IGP Finance and Welfare. Javaid Akbar Riaz is transferred and posted as Larkana DIG, Saqib Ismail Memon as Mirpurkhas DIG, Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh as Shaheed Banazirabad DIG, and Zulfiqar Ali Larik as Sukkur DIG.
Meanwhile, West Zone DIG Amir Farooqi has been transferred and posted as East Zone DIG, Hyderabad DIG Javaid Akhtar as South Zone DIG and South Zone DIG Azad Khan as West Zone DIG.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Noman Siddiqui is transferred and posted as East Zone SSP, Irfan Ali Baloch as Central Zone SSP, Umar Shahid as South Zone SSP, Muneer Ahmed Sheikh as Malir SSP, Adil Chandio as Hyderabad SSP, Samiullah Soomro as City SSP, Dr Rizwan Ahmed as West Zone SSP and Amir Sadozi as Korangi SSP.
City SSP Sheraz Nazir has been transferred and posted as Sukkur SSP, South Zone SSP Sarfaraz Ahmed as Badin SSP and Korangi SSP Zulfiqar Mehar as Qambar SSP.
In Balochistan, three secretaries have been transferred while the transfers of six commissioners, 33 deputy commissioners and 64 assistant commissioners have also been approved.
The transfers of 31 sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) have also been approved.
Among the secretaries, Colleges Secretary Haider Ali Shikoh, PSO to Chief Minister Babar Khan and Home Secretary Ghulam Ali were transferred to home secretary, principal secretary to the chief minister and member CMIT, respectively.
Makran Division Commissioner Muhammad Ayaz, Kalat Commissioner Naseerabad Seed Jamali, Kalat Divison Commissioner Hashim Ghilaal, Member-III BOR Bashir Bazai, Quetta Divison Commissioner Javed Shahwani and posting awaiting Commissioner Usman Ali Khan were posted as commissioner Sibi, Kal, Quetta, Zhart, Mekran and Naseerabad, respectively.
