Satirist Mushtaq Ahmad Yusufi, 94, passes away

Renowned Urdu satire writer Mushtaq Ahmad Yousafi, 94, has passed away in Karachi after prolonged ailment.

He was being treated at a local hospital in Karachi.

Yusufi, who was born in 1923 in Jaipur, migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and started working in a bank. He also served as the head of several national and international governmental and financial institutions

His famous works include Chiragh Talay, Khakam-ba-dahan, ZarguzashtAab-i-gum and Sham-e-Shair-e-Yaaraan. 

During his lifetime, he was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1999 and Hilal-i-Imtiaz Award in 2002.
