Salman Khan may have been labelled as the ‘worst Bollywood actor’ but his star power has managed to break records as Race 3 becomes the highest opener and second highest weekend opener for 2018.

According to a statement from the producers, the film had an impressive Monday collection of  INR14.24 crore, INR 12.05 crore on Tuesday taking the total box-office collection to INR 132.76 crore within five days of the release.

Starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah in main roles, the film is third in the Race franchise and has been directed by Remo D’Souza.

The film received poor reviews by the critics and was widely trolled on the internet. However, it crossed the 100-crore mark at the box office in its opening weekend – the fourth Salman film to do so after Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Reacting to the negative reviews that the film got, Bobby Deol on Wednesday told PTI, “I am very happy that people have appreciated my work and appreciated everyone’s work. We keep getting criticism. It matters when the film is really bad and if this was so bad, it wouldn’t have worked commercially.”

“People have given so much love to the film and accepted it wholeheartedly. Touchwood! I just want to keep doing more such films and people keep liking my work. Everybody is happy. The film is doing good business. What else do we want?” he added.
