Qasim elated by team’s success

LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation President Qasim Zia has termed the success of the hockey team as one of the biggest wins of recent times. Talking to journalists after participating in the victory celebrations observed by Olympians here at the National Hockey Stadium, Qasim Zia said the win was made possible due to the positive steps taken by the PHF. He also praised the contributions of the senior players in the win.
“Salman Akbar, Rehan Butt and Sohail Abbas have proved that there is no alternate to experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Manzoor Junior stated the win has given a new lease of life to Pakistan hockey. He added that the seniors used their experience to write history.
Olympian Naeem Anjum pointed the current management fulfilled its promise of landing Asian Games gold medal.
Meanwhile, Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt along with President PFF Syed Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat, Sports Minister Aijaz Jakharani, DG Sports Board Hamza Gillani and Secretary Sports Punjab Saeed Ahmed all felicitated the PHF president Qasim Zia, the Pakistan hockey team and management on their gold medal triumph at the Asian Games in Guangzhou. They also recognized the role the Pakistan Hockey Federation has played in their success.
