ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk on Wednesday sought a report from the Interior Ministry over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Imran Khan’s close aide Zulfi Bukhari’s name removal from the Exit Control List (ECL).

The caretaker premier’s notice came two days after the London-based businessman was granted one-time permission by the Interior Ministry to perform Umrah and return in six days despite his name being on ECL.

Zulfi Bukhari, who was accompanying Imran Khan on a charter flight to Madina – Saudi Arabia to offer Umrah, was prevented to travel initially.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the immigration staff at Benazir Bhutto International Airport stopped Bukhari from exiting the country due to his name on the ECL list.

Later, Bukhari was allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia when he sought permission from the ministry for traveling for “one time”.
