Balochistan’s 11-member interim cabinet takes oath

QUETTA: An 11-member caretaker cabinet of Balochistan took oath in a ceremony held in Quetta on Tuesday.

The oath was administered by Governor Muhammad Achakzai at the Governor House.

Naveed Kalmati, Hafiz Khaleel Ahmed, Manzoor Hussain, and Imam Bakhsh became part of the province’s caretaker government. Malik Inayat, Nasarullah Khiljee, Abdul Salam Khan, Agha Umer Bangulza, Khurram Shehzad, Faizullah Kakar and Farzana Baloch were also sworn in.

Earlier on June 7, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had confirmed the appointment of Alauddin Marri as Balochistan’s caretaker chief minister (CM) following the parliamentary committee’s failure to reach a unified decision on the matter. The parliamentary committee has especially been formed to finalise a candidate.
