Putrefied bodies of a 60-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter were recovered from their house after stench perturbed the neighbours on Monday evening. The deceased are identified as Surrayya Bibi, 60, and Munazza, 18, residents of Street No 7, Ittehad Town, South Cantt. According to a local, the victims were living in the area for the last 18 years and they hailed from Jhang district, adding that Surrayya’s husband had left her a long ago over not having a son. Another next door neighbour Sarfraz said the victims they used to leave their house early in the morning and return late in the night.
“The bodies were decomposed and naked,” a police official said. SHO South Cantt suspected the women could have been killed by some of their relatives for grabbing their house. To a question, he said the chances of rape-cum-murder ruled out.
