The Sahianwala police who arrested a drug dealer was attacked by a group of the accused’s relatives who thrashed the police and snatched him from the police custody. SHO Mazharul Haq along with a contingent raided the house of accused Naeem at Chak No 123 RB wanted in connection with a muder case. The police had also reports of his involvement in drug trade. He was arrested by SHO Mazharul Haq and 500 grams of heroin also recovered from him at the time of his arrest. As the police party was bringing him to Sahianwala Police Station, his brother Zeeshan, accompanied by 8 other people, ambushed the police outside the village. The group attacked beat the police with sticks, got the accused freed and escaped. The accused party sources said that the police had staged a drama of the escape of Naeem from the police custody to kill him in a fake police encounter.
