PESHAWAR: After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Awami National Party (ANP) has also demanded that polls in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) be held together with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). This was announced by ANP Chairman Asfandyar Wali Khan while addressing a FATA youth jirga, reported a local English newspaper.
ANP chief welcomed the FATA-KP merger and said that it was a dream of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan. “Merger is a good omen for Pakhtun unity,” he said, adding changing the name of the province, provincial autonomy, and FATA-KP merger were the dreams of their forefathers.
“Protection of 18th Amendment is the top responsibility of all of us and we will protect it at all costs,” he said.
