LAHORE: Persistent dry weather in Punjab’s plains resulted in the mercury reaching 43 degrees centigrade in the provincial capital on Friday.
Experts of the meteorological department said that the harsh weather conditions would prevail for another four days and its intensity could further increase as well.
They added that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours and according to the synoptic situation, continental air was prevailing over most plains of the country.
Meanwhile, health experts, while talking to this scribe, advised the people to avoid unnecessary exposure to sun and to stay indoors, especially in the afternoon.
They also suggested that the people kept themselves hydrated to maintain a cool body temperature and energy level.
