KARACHI: Political parties in Sindh named former chief secretary Fazalur Rehman as the caretaker Sindh chief minister of Sindh on Thursday night following a meeting at the Chief Minister House.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Opposition leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan were present during the meeting.
Addressing a late night press conference, Shah said that around 30 names were discussed and Fazalur Rehman’s name was finalised with mutual consensus.
Opposition leader Khawaja Izhar added that Rehman was an apolitical individual and has vast experience in administration and governance.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had also nominated Rehman.
The caretaker chief minister will take oath at the Governor House in Karachi. Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair will administer the oath.
The nominated caretaker chief minister Fazlur Rehman had served as a chief secretary of Sindh from 2007 to 2010.
