KARACHI: The Sindh Government constituted a three-member information commission charged with the responsibility to provide access to information to citizens.
The notification pertaining to the commission stated that it was formed “with immediate effect”.
Sikandar Huliyo and Gul Munir Shah were appointed as commissioners while Shahid Gulzar Shaikh was appointed as chief information commissioner.
The commissioner may conduct an inquiry and order any public body to release information, according to the rules.
The commission may also exercise powers of a “civil court”.
