Murray won’t be distracted by Nadal revenge mission

Andy Murray is determined not to be distracted by the prospect of a revenge mission against defending champion Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon. Murray is one of the favourites for the title after winning the Wimbledon warm-up event at Queen’s Club last week hot on the heels of his impressive run to the French Open semi-finals. But the world number four is seeded to face Nadal if he makes it to the semi-finals and that would mean having to beat an opponent who has defeated the Scot twice previously at Wimbledon. Murray, 24, crashed out against Nadal in last year’s semi-finals, lost their quarter-final meeting in 2008 and was also beaten by the world number one in the last four in Paris recently. Avenging those defeats would be a sweet moment for Murray, but he refuses to contemplate the possibility just yet in case he lets his focus slip in his first round clash against Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver. “I’m not looking anywhere past the first match. It’s not worth it,” Murray said.
