Heatstroke relief centres established at various health facilities in Karachi

KARACHI: As city braves for sizzling heat, Heatstroke Relief Centres (HRC) have been established in basic health units, rural health centres and other health facilities of Baldia, Keamari, Orangi and Gadap towns to facilitate citizens hit by ongoing heatwaves.

Furthermore, HRCs have also been established at Civil Hospital Karachi, Native Jetty Bridge, Keamari Town and other areas.

Business and social life has been affected due to heat wave. Worst affected are labourers who perform works at open places and hotels. The load shedding in various areas is also affecting the citizens amid Ramazan. The people preferred to stay indoors as scorching heatwave tormented. Traffic remained low on roads.

Health authorities have advised people to stay indoors, take baths and keep themselves cool with a wet cloth.
