A teenaged girl committed suicide in Baldia Town, the Saeedabad police said on Friday. They said that Shaista Muhammad Ikram, 14, hanged herself by a rope from a ceiling fan at her house. The teenager was distressed over a domestic issue, they added. Separately, a woman and her minor son were killed and two of her daughters injured when a cemented shade collapsed at the Police Residential Quarters in Lyari, the Kalakot police said. They said that Tanzeem, 35, Abdul Basit, 4, Saba and Naseem were relaxing in the veranda of house No 1 in Block F when a cemented shade collapsed on top of them. Tanzeem and Basit died on the spot, whereas Saba and Naseem were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), they added.
In another incident, a man died in a road accident at the Shershah Bridge, Edhi sources said. They said that Zohaib, 22, was walking on the bridge when a speeding vehicle hit and killed him. The body was shifted to the CHK and later handed over to the heirs, they added. In yet another incident, a man was killed in North Karachi, the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police said. They said that unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on a cement block factory in Sector 2. Factory owner Gul Zaman, 55, died on the spot as a result and his body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, they added.
Similarly, a man was injured in a firing incident in Old Sabzi Mandi, the PIB police said. They said that Imran Khan, 35, was at the Shah Zhob Hotel when unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on him. He suffered bullet injuries and was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, they added.
