QUETTA: A homemade bomb was discovered near a railway track in Dasht town on Thursday morning, soon after an explosion occurred at the same site.

Moreover, no loss of life was reported in the explosion that occurred near the railway track of Kharan district in Balochistan, but trains that were scheduled to move to further stations were stopped immediately.

Following the explosion, the bomb disposal squad (BDS) reached the site and is currently working on defusing the bomb. The BDS reported that an explosive device was kept in a pressure cooker near the track.

According to reports, prior to the blast, Jaffar Express was scheduled to leave for Peshawar, Bugti Express for Lahore and Bolan Mail for Karachi.

Earlier, in April, at least seven security officials were martyred and 15 others, including eight Frontier Corps soldiers, were wounded when three suicide bombers blew themselves up in Quetta on the same day.
