ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is considering criminal proceedings against several members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) and Pak Sarzameen Party’s (PSP) leadership for not cooperating in a money laundering case, reported a local media outlet.
A high-level meeting took place in the FIA’s headquarters, which was attended by senior investigation officers and UK based lawyer Toby Cadman, and at this meeting, it was decided to move against some MQM and PSP leaders because of their failure to join investigation proceedings and provide sufficient details regarding the case, according to reports.
The FIA had disclosed earlier this year that the agency had hired the services of the UK based lawyer to pursue cases against the former MQM supremo Altaf Hussain in the UK.
