ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Information Secretary and member of National Assembly (MNA) Dr Nafisa Shah on Tuesday expressed concern after bail was granted to five killers of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Dr Shah said in a statement that former dictator General Pervez Musharraf, involved in the murder of Benazir Bhutto, was allowed to leave the country and now he was avoiding to appear in Pakistani courts to face murder charges against him.

She said that the police officers who were booked in the murder case have not only been released on bail but have also been reinstated to their old jobs.

Dr Shah said that Benazir Bhutto was not an average personality as she was twice elected the prime minister of Pakistan and was also an internationally recognised leader. She said that the release of her murderers amounted to injustice.

She also said that by providing bail to Benazir’s murderers, those people who have been challenging the writ of the state would be encouraged to continue their criminal ways.

It is on the record that the prosecutor of this case was murdered in broad daylight. The perception is getting stronger that the Bhutto family have and would never get justice in Pakistan, Dr Nafisa Shah added.
