The Met office has predicted first pre-monsoon rain over north-eastern parts of Pakistan including Islamabad, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Kashmir during the next 24 hours (Friday or Saturday).
The Met office said some pre-monsoon currents have entered the upper parts of Pakistan and are likely to produce rain. Because of this expected rain, the heat wave is likely to subside in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from Saturday. The second spell of pre-monsoon rains is expected from June 20 and the third spell in the last week of June. Citizens claimed that the probable rain would give them some relief as the last few days were very hot.
