ANF majors to face court martial

District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Rashid Qamar on Wednesday ordered the police and the jail authorities to hand over the two majors and an official deputed at Anti-Narcotics Force to the armed forced for a court martial. ANF Joint Director Colonel Iftikhar Ali assured the court in writing of the court martial of the accused. After hearing both the sides, the court announced its verdict for their court martial. The court also directed the colonel to intimate it every fortnightly about progress of military court.
Police save two robbers from mob: Police rescued two robbers from an angry mob and shifted them to hospital with broken limbs for treatment. Reportedly, two brothers, Zeeshan and Saqib, residents of Lahori Gate, snatched jewellery and a wallet from the wife of Patwari Muhammad Shabbir at People’s Colony and fled away on their motorcycle. Muhammad Shabbir chased them and succeeded in stopping their bike on Kashmir Road. Robber Zeeshan shot at Shabbir and injured him. Meanwhile, a large number of locals gathered there and started torturing the robbers severely. The police also reached the spot and saved the two brothers from the angry mob who had broken their legs and arms. Muhammad Shabbir and the robbers were hospitalised.
