KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) PIB faction leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday warned the Sindh government of staging protests outside the K-Electric head office and the CM House if the issue of prolonged power load-shedding not resolved in next 72 hours.

Addressing a protest rally organised outside the Karachi Press Club, he said that the protest demonstration was staged against unannounced electricity loadshedding and the rulers’ ‘enmity’ towards the people.

Taking a jibe at Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is on a two-day visit in Karachi, Sattar said that the residents of the city would not settle for the former’s lollypop, referring to the PML-N president’s statement that he would turn Karachi into New York if his party was given a chance in upcoming elections.

Giving a deadline of 72 hours, the MQM-P leader said that the CM House and the K-E head office would be surrounded by protesters if the provincial government failed to resolve the chronic issue of power and water shortage in the city.

Sattar demanded that the control of distributing water and electricity in the city must be given to the representatives of the Sindh capital.
