Pakistani nationals’ repatriation from Afghanistan in final phase

ISLAMABAD: Final phase of repatriation of North Waziristan’s displaced people living in Afghanistan has started from Thursday.

Spokesman, FATA Disaster Management Authority Ihsan Dawar said around 50 families will be repatriated in this phase. Eight families consisting of around 55 members returned to Pakistan via Ghulam Khan route, VOA Deewa Radio reported.

He informed that complete arrangements had been made at Ghulam Khan route and at the camp. The people are first shifted to camp in Bannu and then they leave for North Waziristan Agency. The process will continue till the end of this month.

He said they will provide transport facilities to take them to Bannu camp. A facilitation centre is set up at Ghulam Khan route for the displaced people.

He said the displaced people would return to their homes from Bannu camp as soon as the roads leading to their villages open. Ihsan Dawar added it is final phase for the peoples return. Those, who fail to come to Pakistan in this phase, will face difficulties in entering the country.
